Newspapers Convert To Narrower Widths

Approximately 150 North American newspapers have converted to or are in the process of converting to narrower web widths, according to the Newspaper Association of America in Vienna, Va. Many newspapers are converting to a narrower width to cut newsprint costs. The NAA reports that conversion from a 54-inch web to a 50-inch web could reduce newsprint consumption by up to 7.4%.
